Fort Clatsop National Memorial
Fort Clatsop National Memorial

The Officer's Inn is just a few miles from the Fort Clatsop National Memorial.  During the winter of 1805 the Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery built their winter quarters, which became known as Fort Clatsop in honor of the local native americans.

We don't know why Lewis and Clark didn't simply come over to the Officer's Inn to stay.  They wouldn't have had to build a fort if they stayed with us!

The Officer's Inn is just 15 minutes (by car) from Fort Clatsop, site of the Lewis and Clark expedition's 1805 winter camp.  Stay with us as you explore Fort Clatsop.
